I grew up in Asia, and many of my pieces (and whole series) are meditations on Wu Xing,

I grew up in small towns in Oregon, so I am a nature lover at heart. I recycle almost all my
waste, I compost, and I do not use Styrofoam. My car gets 30 mpg and it is important to
me to have a minimal carbon footprint. I am also able to make financial contributions to
significant environmentally active organizations.

Elements of art are all around us and with a little imagination we can appreciate or create
something special. As an art educator, I encouraged students to look for the color, texture
and pattern in nature and man made objects. I work with prints from leaves, wood, shoes,
placemats and kitchen floors. I use a variety of homemade paper, napkins, candy
wrappers, ribbon, and confetti from concerts. There are no limits or boundaries as to the
use or reuse of objects around us. I just use my eye to supply the inspiration by looking at
the beauty of nature.

I have always been an animal lover and a nature lover. I adopted 4 rescued cats and I am a
foster parent for a 5th cat.
I also plant fruit trees, vegetables, and herbs in my backyard. Nothing tastes better than
growing my own food.

rates... (more)

Earth that are able to destroy their own living environment. Although there has been a lot of
talk lately about global warming, green house gases, endangered species... (more)
