Welcome to the Green House Gallery!
|

The Green House Gallery offers three internship positions. The internship
lasts one semester, with the option to reapply for a second semester upon
recommendation by the supervising mentor. The selection committee looks
for a strong art background with an interest in the art business. The
candidate should be a self-starter with creative ideas who can work as a team
member and independently. The interns work closely with an assigned
mentor in the area of interest. The schedule consists of two hours a day for
two days a week during office hours or for event preparation. The goal is to
provide the student an opportunity to learn while participating in actual life
situations encountered in the daily management of a gallery with a green
focus.
There are three opportunities to participate:
Gallery Management Intern
Assist in the daily administration and operations of the gallery. These tasks
include assisting visitors, taking and making telephone calls, and day-to-day
paperwork. This position will assist in promotion and development duties to
promote the gallery. May attend gallery events.
Gallery Curator Intern
Assist in the selection of art and care. These tasks include assisting in
receiving, selecting, hanging or placement of artwork, including lighting,
labeling, inventory control, and sales processing support. May attend gallery
events.
Gallery Events Intern
Assist in the planning and preparing of monthly and special events held at
the gallery. These tasks include assisting in event planning and
development, researching to develop potential contacts, and event set up
and take down. May attend gallery events.
The Green House Gallery is an opportunity to learn in a setting that not only
presents innovative art but includes a community focus that supports the
sustainable use of resources. Candidates should prepare a portfolio and
resumé for an interview at the beginning of each semester.
