Why Go Green?
Our artists discuss what it means to them.
Welcome to the Green House Gallery!
By now, most are aware of the tremendous damage that mankind has inflicted upon our
planet’s environment.  Global warming is causing our polar ice caps to melt at alarming
rates; 60,000 species go extinct every year,  and even the air we breathe is  damaging our
public health.

However, this is not an irreversible situation. Changing our habits by recycling and by
opting for clean and renewable energy sources will help us survive and create a safe
environment for future generations. This task is upon us and each of us must become a
hero in the fight to prolong the future of human kind.

Ten years ago, when I began working with other metal artists, I was introduced to a style
and techniques that emphasize the act of recycling.   Trips to junkyards in search of
discarded barrels or other metal  destined to rust away allowed me to transform discarded
objects into wall hangings of  moons and stars,  unusual faces and various animals. I
soon learned that my imagination applied to junk could bring a smile to people’s faces.

Recycled metal sculpture has been my main body of work for the last 8 years.  Although I
have branched out beyond metal sculpture, it is hard for me to drive pass a pile of junk on
bulky thrash day and not stop.  Currently, I am working on a series of found object
sculptures that project nature as a martyr.  These pieces will be featured at Green House
Gallery.

Green House Gallery will be taking donations of useful objects as broken electronic
devices, wood, metal  etc  that can be turned into art,  to schedule a pick up or delivery time
you can call me directly at 512 689 0209 or GHG at 713 535 6462.
